Dr. Sheyi Ojofeitimi, DPT, OCS, CFMT, CIDN - Dr. Sheyi Ojofeitimi is the Director of Therapy Services at Alvin Ailey American Dance Foundation, CEO of Synthesis Physical Therapy, and Co-founder of the Dance Ready Project. She is also the creator of On The PT Tip, an interactive injury prevention and management workshop. A licensed physical therapist for 20 years, Dr. Sheyi has worked with Ailey School staff, students, Ailey II, Ailey I, Cedar Lake, Limón, and several Broadway & Off-Broadway shows, including Wicked, Once on this Island, Avenue Q, and FreeStyle Love Supreme. For ten years, she was part of a biomechanics team at the Analysis of Dance And Movement (ADAM) Center, researching movement and injury patterns in dancers. She is the author of 17 peer-reviewed journal articles.
Dr. Sheyi is a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT), Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), and has advanced training in the Thoracic Ring Approach. She trained in visceral mobilization, craniosacral therapy, and integrative dry needling (IDN). She is a specialist in treating lumbopelvic/sacrococcygeal dysfunctions and has a passionate interest in the connection between dysbiosis (gut dysfunction) and chronic pain/disease. Using a whole-body functional approach that incorporates nutrition, she treats each client as a unique individual. Dr. Sheyi received a Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University, Master of Physical Therapy from West Virginia University, and Doctor Physical Therapy from Alabama State University.
